The Best for Westchester Gala was a bright success!
300 guests danced into the night and raised almost $200,000 in support of Andrus’ work on behalf on vulnerable children.

The gala honored dear friends of Andrus’ children, Renee and Charles Brown (on the left), owners of C.W. Brown Inc., and the family of the late Hector Hyacinthe, whose widow Phyllis (on the right), accepted the honor with her children gathered around.

Scarsdale architect Chris Kannell designed the ultimate play cottage, modeled after the four historic residences on our Yonkers campus, and saw it built to perfection by our friends at Carpenters Union 11. Anonymous donors bid $9,000 for the charming cottage and then donated it for the enjoyment of children in the diagnostic center.

Enjoying the annual gala were generous patrons Ruth and Martin Kest and Rosemary and David Mandelbaum; Martin and Rosemary serve on the Andrus Children's Center Board of Directors.

Stu Strauss, CEO of Strauss Paper Supply in Port Chester NY, kept the crowd laughing as he playfully honored Renee and Charlie Brown for their “heart for kids”

A. Tappen Soper, Chairman of the Board, and Nancy Woodruff Ment, President and CEO, warmly welcomed the capacity crowd for our tenth annual Best-for-Westchester dinner.”

Maurice and Cassandra Hyacinthe showed us all how to dance the night away!

Westchester County leaders (from left) Eli Gordon, Dr. Marsha Gordon, Executive Director of the Westchester Business Council, and Ellen Lynch, Executive Director of Yonkers IDA, celebrate with colleague Charlie Brown.
